Our History

Global Connections (Scotland) Limited was formed in 1997 by Andrew Lennox. For the first two years the company concentrated on developing Glasgow School of English as an independent school for speakers of English as a Foreign Language. In 1999, Andrew added the Translation and Interpreting service to the company, and this part of the business is called Global Connections Language Solutions.

Global Connections Language Solutions is now one of the leading providers of language solutions in the UK with a wide and expanding range of clients. We continue to grow and develop our services to meet the changing needs of our clients. In the past few years our translation and interpreting services have expanded to include design and typesetting of foreign language texts, foreign language website localisation and audio recordings.

We are confident for the future as we continue to develop new services and find innovative ways of meeting our overall objective: to provide our clients with competitive, high quality and effective language solutions.

Our People

Andrew Lennox is the company's Managing Director, and is President of Glasgow School of English. He has more than 30 years experience within the education sector in Scotland and has strong links with international business communities in the Far East and Eastern Europe. Prior to establishing Glasgow School of English, Andrew was the Vice Principal of one of Glasgow's leading colleges, Glasgow College of Commerce.

David Orr is the Director of Global Connections Language Solutions and has been with the company since it was founded. David combines a passion for languages and a flair for imaginative technical solutions, to drive forward the company's commitment to quality and innovation.
