Face-to-Face Interpreting

Face-to-face interpreting is the standard method for most situations where a foreign language interpreter is required.

We can provide you with an interpreter for:

  • Meetings
  • Interviews
  • Workshops
  • Legal proceedings
  • Business/Social events
  • PA announcements and recordings

Our interpreters live throughout the UK and can travel to the location of your choice, fully briefed and prepared for the assignment.

Appointments can be booked for as little as 30 minutes or as long as you require.

Ad hoc, Liaison or Consecutive Interpreting

Sometimes face-to-face interpreting is described as ad hoc, liaison or consecutive interpreting. Ad hoc or liaison interpreting tends to be used in less formal situations where there are many natural breaks in conversation for the interpreter to speak. Consecutive interpreting is used in more formal situations where the speaker deliberately pauses after slightly longer sections (e.g. paragraphs) of a speech for the interpreter to speak.

In practice, in a face-to-face interpreting assignment, the interpreter may have to do both liaison and consecutive interpreting for different parts and all our interpreters are capable of providing whatever is required.
