  • China
  • Japan
  • South Korea
  • North Korea
  • Taiwan
  • Thailand
  • Indonesia
  • Philippines
  • Myanmar (Burma)
  • Malaysia
  • Vietnam
  • Cambodia
  • Laos

The languages from this region come from a number of different language families, not all of which are related to each. Many of the languages use the same Roman alphabet as English, often with accents or diacritic marks.
