Case Study

Client: Glasgow School of Art

Work Type: Translation

Project Type: Academic

The Challenge:
The client had several academic staff members who required business cards translated for an overseas trip to promote Glasgow School of Art in Japan. Although the translations were small in terms of the number of words, we knew how important it was for cards to be 100% correct and appropriate in order for them to be effective in Japanese business culture.

Our Approach:
The size of the text to be translated was minimal (only about 50 words), but we took the precaution of having the translations checked over by an independent proofreader just in case the main translator had made any unnoticed mistakes. As it turned out there were no corrections needed. The cards were then typeset and printed for the client.

The Result:
The client was very happy with the business cards we produced. Since then they have had several other sets of business cards created, including some for other staff members or for trips to other countries.
