The Challenge:
The client requested that we translate several documents designed to provide students at the college with information about student services. These included details of the college’s crèche facilities and also information about how the student hardship fund operated.
Our Approach:
As the client planned to produce printed versions of the documents we translated, this meant the translations had to be independently proofread after translation to check that no errors had crept in and also to polish and refine the translated prose where possible. Because some of the scripts used in the translations might not display correctly on computers lacking the necessary language support packs, we provided the translations in PDF format as these files will display on any computer accurately. This is our normal procedure when providing non-roman scripts to most clients.
The Result:
The staff at the student services office were very pleased with the way we handled this project and were able to use the translations we provided in exactly the way they envisaged.
