Case Study

Client: Scottish Council for Development and Industry (SCDI)

Work Type: Translation

Project Type: Business and Commerce

The Challenge:
The client required the brochure for a trade mission to be translated into Polish. The text included entries written by a wide range of different companies in a number of different styles. Each entry included some technical terminology related to a different industry or trade. Being used as a marketing tool, it was vital that the Polish text produced was not only correct terminology wise but also that it read well as marketing copy.

Our Approach:
We had to identify a translator familiar with the industries and trades listed who could also deliver the polished prose required for this type of document. The entire text was also proofread and edited by a second translator to ensure consistency and accuracy of the final translation.

The Result:
During the trade mission, the British Embassy staff in Warsaw commented that this was the first brochure they could remember which did not require correction. They felt that "both the translation of specialist terminology and the language of the translation show a very high standard."
