The Challenge:
The Scottish Parliament hosted a high profile international conference of parliamentarians from France, Germany and Spain to coincide with Europe Day in May 2009. Our tasks included providing a range of written translations for the event and interpreters for the main conference and other workshops and meetings being held as part of the two-day event.

Our Approach:
The project involved both our translation and interpreting services. The translations for the event included a number of information sheets, policy documents, briefings and practical matters such as menus. The interpreting side of the job needed careful planning and co-ordination as we needed to provide 18 interpreters to cover the main conference floor as well as a number of smaller workshops and meetings. Each area had to be covered by French, German and Spanish interpreters capable of working to and from English in simultaneous conference format,using booths and equipment. We co-ordinated the selection and attendance of suitably skilled and qualified interpreters from all over the UK for the event.

The Result:
The event was very successful & the Scottish Parliament were delighted with the level of service they received from us and were impressed by the professionalism shown by the interpreters on both days of the conference.
