The Challenge:
The Scottish Parliament hosted a conference for NORPEC (Network of Regional Parliamentary European Committees), which included delegates from Parliament’s in Spain and Germany as well as delegates from the Scottish Parliament. A number of conference interpreters were required for the event to enable all delegates to communicate with each other in English, Spanish/Catalan and German in a conference.
Our Approach:
The conference set-up required that additional interpreting booths and audio equipment was hired and installed at the Scottish Parliament building. We then appointed (and in some cases recruited) experienced conference interpreters in teams working together to provide two-way conference interpreting in all required language pairs: English<>German, English<>Spanish, German<>Spanish.
The Result:
The conference was very successful and the clerk to the Scottish Parliament committee responsible for hosting the event wrote to us afterwards to express his thanks for all our work on this project.
